Cunill Tranquilo Espresso Grinder (Doser or Doserless)

This semi-commercial grinder by Cunill of Spain is a dependable, compact grinder designed with the demanding home barista or small restaurant owner in mind, but don't let its size fool you. The heavy-duty motor, condenser, and grinding burrs are the same sturdy components found in Cunill's acclaimed line of commercial grinders sold to coffee bars around the world.

The large, 60mm hardened steel flat burrs can be finely adjusted for any grind thickness, from extra fine powder for Turkish coffee to extra coarse for French presses. El Cafe' Tranquilo runs very quiet at just 77 dB, and even includes a self-resetting thermal sensor on the motor to avoid overheating.

Cunill El Cafe' Tranquilo now comes in both doserless - with electronic timer controlling each grinding cycle - or traditional version with doser / dispenser and built-in coffee tamper on the doser (click on inset pictures to enlarge / view both models).

In the doserless model an electronic timer, easily adjustable by the operator, allows consistent portion control between 5 and 12 grams of coffee directly into the portafilter of an espresso machine (or any other container) through a cleverly designed and completely accessible feeder / chute. This allows the user to grind and dispense only the quantity of coffee necessary at the time, maximizing freshness, virtually eliminating ground coffee waste and making the use of measuring scoops or lever dispensers unnecessary. Available in black only.

In models with doser, ground coffee is dispensed in a newly redesigned dispenser, with a capacity of approximately 12 oz of ground coffee and an adjustable throw (with visual scale) to dispense as little as 5 or as many as 10 grams per pull. Doser includes a clever flip style tamper for both 53mm and 58mm portafilters, a new ergonomic pull handle, elegant clear housing for easier visual check of coffee left in the doser, as well as Cunill's exclusive Direct Intake guide system to engage the portafilter against the doser and eliminate ground coffee spills when dispensing. Doser model is available in black polished ($10.00 additional, pictured above) or stainless steel ($25.00 additional) body.
